A 1Password user accidentally deleted their entire account and vault data while attempting to downgrade from a Family to an Individual plan due to a confusing user interface.

Hey all, hoping someone here can point me in the right direction or any mods or employee can help speed this up. I was trying to downgrade my Family plan to Individual. Removed all other members so I was the only one left, but the downgrade option still wasn't showing up. So I went into Settings and clicked "Delete Family Account," thinking that would unlock the Individual downgrade option. Instead it deleted my entire account, vault data and all. Obviously not what I wanted, I just wanted to change plan types, not delete my whole account. I already emailed 1Password support yesterday explaining the situation and asking if my data is recoverable. Support ID is 802165. If any mods or 1Password staff see this, I'd really appreciate a hand getting this escalated. Just trying to get my account and vault back, and understand what my time window is before the data's gone for good. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. UPDATE: Thanks for mod/1PasswordCS-Blake for escalating quick and Tommy from 1password team for prompt response, my account and items/passwords/vaults recovered successfully. Many thanks

  • “When you cancel your subscription they don’t delete your data. It should still be available in a read-only format. If you did in fact delete it vs canceling, they still keep a restorable copy for 30 days. See here: https://support.1password.com/delete-account/”

  • “If you have any devices that have not logged in since you deleted your account, you should be able to login to those WITHOUT a network connection and export your data from there as a safe guard.”

  • “I want to give OP a little hope. If you check https://support.1password.com/delete-account/ it states that You have 30 days before your information is permanently deleted. So since you have contacted them, just let them answer your support request and they should be able to restore your account as needed.”
