In case you missed it, Chick-fil-A is branching out beyond its famous chicken sandwiches with an entirely new restaurant concept centered on coffee and specialty drinks. Late last year, the fast-food giant announced the launch of Daybright , a standalone beverage-focused brand that will debut in the Atlanta area, marking one of the company's biggest experiments outside its traditional menu. Unlike a typical Chick-fil-A restaurant, Daybright doesn't serve the chain's signature chicken sandwiches, waffle fries or lemonade. Instead, customers can expect a menu built around specialty coffees, smoothies, cold-pressed juices and other handcrafted beverages. The concept also features a limited food menu that is separate from Chick-fil-A's core offerings. The launch comes as major restaurant chains race to capture more beverage sales, one of the fastest-growing and most profitable segments of the quick-service industry. Consumers, especially younger customers, are increasingly seeking premium coffees, energy drinks, refreshers and customizable beverages throughout the day.
