C8355-G2-MX Everything desired but the power bricks. For an inherited sort depth 6u wallmount rack you cannot reach behind it might make sense. C8375-E-G2 Rear slot swappable redundant power supplies. Wish there was an C8375-E-G2-MX variant. C8455-G2-MX Overkill When you go to create a new network there is that mx vs ios xe selector (cannot be changed later). Anyone running non -MX? Guess trying out a C8235-E-G2 (with one IEC AC power connector & dc brick backup) vs C8235-G2-MX would be a slightly cheaper test. nonexistent C8235-E-G2-MX

  • [comment u/WasteBuffalos] I am with you here, I really don't like the external power bricks on the G2 routers (MX or regular) and similar the power bricks on the MS130's as well.

  • [comment u/gKostopoulos] Also no clip on the PSU DC in on the router and it’s looooooooooose as! How is there no pull clip for prevention!

But from my conversations with the product teams it came down too, hot swap PSU are very expensive compared to bricks, and single internal PSU's will fail, and require a total swap out and RMA of the device, so they settled on external bricks that”

  • “With our mx68w's we went with a rack shelf with space to hold the PSU also, but as they are not HA if a brick fails it's no big deal to swap it out.”
