  • [comment u/keyable] For example, one of the features I would really like to see is “Flip the Mission Plan.”

  • [comment u/keyable] Quite often, I want to start a corridor mission from the opposite end, but unfortunately Pilot 2 doesn’t currently support this.

Another feature I use quite often is filming video alongside a corridor mission. I create waypoints with DEM elevation assigned to them, let the drone follow the route using cruise”

  • “The non-DJI side of the industry is growing, and software that isn't locked into their ecosystem's going to become more in demand not less.”

  • “UgCS is second to non for ease of use and compatibility. It's awesome to be able to fly out DJI, Inspired Flight, and Freefly drones all with the same software. And it has tons of feature that I've never seen in any other software. Big one for us is the ability to import kmls as flight lines. This lets us actually do our lidar flight planning in CAD. That way we can draw it exactly how we want it.”

  • “Nothing. I use Pilot 2 and like it. It is intuitive enough and gets good results. We use FlightHub 2 to plan and Terra to process lidar and photogrammetry. I have zero complaints now that Terra has caught up on projections and datum choices.”

  • “A lot comes down to workflow. Pilot 2 works well if the DJI ecosystem already covers the job, but third-party planning starts making more sense when different aircraft and sensors need to fit into the same workflow.”
