(WJRT) - General Motors is investing another $1.5 million in STEM education programs across Michigan, bringing the company's total support for the MiSTEM Network to $2.5 million. The latest funding will support a partnership between the MiSTEM Network and MTEC SmartZone aimed at connecting students with hands-on learning opportunities and preparing them for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A portion of the funding will go toward programs for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, including learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. The programs are designed to involve students alongside families, businesses and other community partners. The investment will also support improvements to a publicly available map of STEM learning resources across Michigan.
