Harvey, the startup founded by Winston Weinberg and Gabe Pereyra that applies artificial intelligence to legal work, closed a US$550 million (about 472 million euros) round on September 9 that places the company at a valuation of US$15.5 billion. It is the largest operation in the legaltech sector so far in 2026, according to PitchBook data collected by Yahoo Finance, and represents 16% of the US$3.35 billion that the legaltech segment has moved globally this year. The round was co-led by Diffusion, a new fund co-founded by Kris Fredrickson (ex-Coatue and a veteran supporter of Harvey), and by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Existing investors such as Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, a16z, Coatue, Conviction, Elad Gil, Evantic, GIC, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Verified Capital, and WNDR also participated, along with new ones such as Sapphire Ventures and Whale Rock Capital Management. With this injection, the company has accumulated more than US$1.5 billion raised since its founding in 2022. The round comes with metrics that explain why investors are not backing down despite the multiple: Harvey's ARR (annual recurring revenue) already exceeds US$400 million according to The Next Web, more than double that in March 2026, when the previous round had valued it at US$11 billion.
