The all-inclusive resort received the recognition after a 14-month process in which it was evaluated according to 150 international criteria related to environmental management, efficient resource use, waste, biodiversity, and guest and employee participation. The Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort obtained Green Key certification, a recognition granted to establishments that meet the sustainability criteria developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). The establishment will maintain the certification for the next five years and joins the 248 hotels in Mexico that already have this recognition. Internationally, Green Key is present in more than 9000 properties in over 90 countries. Obtaining the certificate was the result of different lines of work implemented by the resort, including waste management, efficient water and energy use, environmental education, sustainable purchasing, maintenance, biodiversity, and guest participation.A 14-month evaluation process The Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort worked for 14 months to comply with the 150 international criteria established by the FEE.
