Hello, our laptop that controls our access control recently died that was hosting Winpak 4.7. We moved the hard drive to a new laptop but the license did not move. Honeywell support states they no longer support 4.7 and cannot assist. Can we upgrade to 4.8 from 4.7 using our existing hardware? Additionally, would we need a security vendor or can the license be purchased individually? There is scarce information online about this.

  • “Win-Pak 4.7 to 4.8 is generally an upgrade path Honeywell supports, but since they've told you 4.7 is unsupported you'll likely need a dealer to process the version migration and reissue the license. Licenses for Win-Pak aren't sold direct to end users in most regions, so a security vendor or Honeywell dealer is probably your route for both the upgrade and the new license tied to the new hardware.”

  • “Contact the integrator who had installed the system - they should have access to Honeywell licensing portal, and your license should have a couple of activations left, unless the license was already moved.”
