A customer is very satisfied with Interactive Brokers as their main brokerage but finds the tax filing process more difficult compared to Neon and is seeking a second broker for diversification.

Hi all, A question regarding brokers: my main broker is IBKR. I am very satisfied with them and will definitely keep the majority of my investments there. However, for some time now, I have been thinking about diversifying more and moving away from a single-broker setup. I recently opened an account at Neon as I was not satisfied with my traditional Swiss Bank anymore. After opening my account and doing some research I noticed Neon has some ETFs (Swiss 50, SP500, Nasdaq100, Allworldetf) which you can buy for free instead of the regular 0.5% fee. I am for example intrested in the new ETF of Xtrackers FTSE All-World (0.07% TER). I am wondering if anyone here has experience with Neon’s 0% investment plans. Does the automatic investment work smoothly? How reliable is the execution of the recurring purchases/monhtly investing? Also, how easy is it to change or stop an investment plan? And for those who have been using Neon for a while, have you experienced any issues with the platform or the ETF savings plans? Thanks in advance for your experiences!

  • “I don't think it's that great because they don't allow fractional shares for their recurring investment. Say you can only invest 200CHF per month and the ETF is at 101CHF, you'll only get 1 share, and 99CHF stays uninvested. I would prefer Yuh's recurring investments, as they offer fractional shares (and all the ETFs for the free recurring plan are in CHF so no fx fee). But neither comes close t”
