i’ve overseen a shopify brand email marketing for about 5 years now. when i started we were doing 70k a month. we’re hitting 3-4m a month on shopify rn. been a good run. i’ve had a habit of doing an audit on the klaviyo acct 1-2x a year since about year 1. that worked out well. lately bc the account is now pretty large its harder to find people that are proficient. is there someplace email people congregate online? while i oversee it and participate in meetingsbon strategy, tactics, campaigns we do have an agency manage technical side. we have someone in house that manages calendar, copy and even some of the design. i own a small agency as well. i do have 2 people in our agency that are pretty capable at klaviyo tasks but this brand has gotten a bit over their heads. trying to find someone that has experience with brands doing 50-250m a year. thinking audits and possible consultation.

  • “I think most of us genuinely senior email/CRM people congregate on LinkedIn and in fairly niche, closed WhatsApp/Slack groups, rather than one big public community. 90+ percent of my work comes through referrals (kind of ironic - the marketer who doesn't really market themselves - I know). And yes, I use Klaviyo day in, day out. I see everything from “someone set this Klaviyo account up years ag”

  • “I created a Google form to collect information on people who think they’re qualified for the position I would say shoot your shot after the last five years of meeting people getting to know them and later on doing business with them I would not discourage anybody from filling out this form put your name on the list Be honest with your experience and if I can Collab with you who referred you ou”

  • “Curious - what type of brand is it? What vertical are they in, and what’s the average price point? This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think the complexity of a Klaviyo account has less to do with the size of the brand and more to do with the complexity of the customer journey, buying cycle, and overall business model…and whether the right infrastructure is in place to support all of that. I”

  • “for an audit, i'd want a deliverable that's more than benchmark numbers. ask for a map of flows, triggers and exclusions, profile and consent issues, shopify event integrity, deliverability/authentication, and segment logic, plus a short prioritized fix list with effort. read-only access is usually enough to start. i'd also ask the auditor to point to the account evidence behind each recommendatio”

  • “hey there, I recently helped a big UK retail client in auditing and fixing leaks in revenue in lifecycle retention but that was part of my job, I am now starting out on my own as a one man agency, happy to chat and see where I can be helpful.”
