I am using a Mac Studio M1 Max, i1 Display Pro, and DisplayCAL (and LG Calibration Studio). I don't have a BM US Mini Monitor 12G YET, but it is the next on my purchase list (had to get a 4K panel first since I was previously using 1440p which is obviously an unsupported resolution). Been going through hell trying to get a new 4K LG monitor (27UP850K) to replace my trusty ASUS ProArt (PA278QV). I bought this monitor over the PA279CRV because it was recommended on here as a cheap monitor with hardware calibration capabilities, but despite trying hardware calibration using LG Calibration Studio (required) many times with an sRGB colour space target, then trying the built in sRGB profile, I was at best getting 80% sRGB Gamut Coverage. LG calibration also gave different results after each calibration, which is clearly unacceptable. So at this point I'm trying to just make it work through icc profiles and then a Resolve LUT once I have a dedicated output box. Using the standard profile I'm finally getting 99.5% sRGB coverage, however along with that I am also getting 130% gamut volume (unsurprising considering it is marketed as 95% p3 and "HDR"). Using the DisplayCAL generated icc profile my Delta E*00 values are average 0.63 and max 1.44. From reading other threads it seems that some amount of overshot gamut volume is normal and my prior ASUS ProArt had 115% sRGB which from...

  • “Going off the DisplayCAL forum and the Resolve 21 manual here, not your exact panel, but the 130% volume on its own isn't a problem. Coverage is the number that tells you whether the panel can actually reach sRGB, and it tops out at 100%. Volume is a 3D measure of the whole gamut, so a panel sold as 95% P3 is always going to read well over 100% against an sRGB reference. On their forum the consens”

  • “No, having both gamut and gamma headroom is a good thing when it comes to properly profiling a monitor’s native capabilities. You :will: want to look into using a proper calibration application in the future though. Learning something like ColourSpace is really eye-opening to the realities of bundled calibration tools and the poor quality results they can achieve, as well as how much there is to p”
