Hi everyone, I currently have 50+ shares sitting in a Morgan Stanley account from my previous employer. The shares are already vested and I’m considering selling them. Before selling directly through Morgan Stanley, I was wondering if it makes more sense to transfer the shares **in-kind to my Interactive Brokers (IBKR) account first and then sell them from IBKR**. My thinking is that the fees/commission for selling through Morgan Stanley might be higher, while IBKR could potentially be more cost-effective. A few questions: 1. Is it actually possible to transfer shares from Morgan Stanley to IBKR without selling them first? 2. Would this normally be done through **ACATS or FOP**? 3. Are there any transfer fees charged by Morgan Stanley? 4. Does the original cost basis transfer correctly to IBKR? 5. Is there any tax implication or other issue I should be aware of when transferring rather than selling directly? Most importantly, **has anyone here actually done this with Morgan Stanley StockPlan shares → IBKR (especially IBKR Singapore)?** If you’ve done this before, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, transfer method, fees, how long it took, and whether you’d recommend doing it. Thanks!
