  • [comment u/kog] You genuinely cannot certify safety-critical flight software for safety of flight if you use an LLM to develop it.

  • [comment u/lmarcantonio] It's barely usable for creating seemingly-working software. Chatgpt told me to use a normally open positive opening contact once.

  • “I mean yeah I don't think anyone intelligent disputes this fact. Funny enough if you spend enough time with AI, building out formal verification workflows becomes very easy. You can use techniques like that to arrive at a decent semblance of correctness but it takes a lot of very skilled humans with strict oversight to really get to a decent space. I work in cyber security, I've had access to My”

  • “Not by itself. In the right hands it absolutely can. People thinking it can't will be left behind”

  • “Honestly if anyone cared about code quality or performance it'd be a long way off creating much of anything. I use it to spin up a reference implementation so I don't have to spend as much time researching, I can just read the slop and figure out how the AI did it. On embedded I find that's not really needed.”
