Oracle Integrates With Swift Ledger to Support Tokenized Bank Deposits

Oracle is expanding its blockchain infrastructure for financial institutions through an integration with Swift Ledger, enabling banks to coordinate tokenized deposits while continuing to use established payment systems. Oracle said on Sept. 23 that its Digital Assets Data Nexus would integrate with Swift Ledger and connect digital-asset transactions with existing ISO 20022-based payment operations. The integration is designed to allow banks to maintain tokenized deposits within their own digital-asset environments while using Swift Ledger to coordinate interbank payment commitments and transaction states. Settlement can then be completed through existing real-time gross settlement (RTGS) or correspondent-banking rails, according to Oracle. Oracle's announcement places tokenized deposits at the center of the new infrastructure. The company said its platform can connect digital-money transactions with existing banking systems rather than requiring institutions to build a separate payment stack for blockchain-based assets. The architecture is intended to coordinate activity occurring both on and off blockchain networks.
