New platform for "more consistent and centralized view of food safety risk" Newport Beach-based Chipotle Mexican Grill has partnered with Palantir Technologies to develop a new food safety program that monitors pest incidents, employee illnesses and other factors, WIRED reported. "Chipotle is piloting a new Food Safety Risk Management Platform designed to provide a more consistent and centralized view of food safety risk across our restaurants," Chief Corporate Affairs and Food Safety Officer Laurie Schalow said in a statement. "The platform brings key information together in one place, enabling our teams to more effectively identify trends, prioritize follow-up and make proactive, data-informed decisions," Schalow added. Palantir will host Chipotle's risk platform on the firm's Foundry flagship software, according to WIRED. The new partnership follows Chipotle's removal of potentially contaminated jalapeños from its supply chain in July when public health authorities reported a Salmonella outbreak in Minnesota and other states.
