Share A new Starbucks café has opened on the Nelson and Colne College (NCC) campus. The coffee chain has launched a barista-served site at NCC, offering students a fresh space to relax, study, and socialise between lessons. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by student governor Jack Carrington and Lisa O'Loughlin CBE, principal and CEO of the East Lancashire Learning Group. The launch follows the recent opening of a Starbucks café at Accrington and Rossendale College. Lucy Baron, catering manager at the East Lancashire Learning Group, said: "We have been officially trained by Starbucks themselves, meaning you're getting barista-served beverages exactly as you'd get them on the High Street. "Payment is quick and easy too, with both card and UPay accepted for a fast, cashless experience." Jack Carrington, student governor, said: "Having Starbucks on campus is brilliant. "It's the kind of thing that makes a real difference to your day. "It also shows we're really listened to as students. "Learners have been asking for this type of space to be created for a while and so it's fantastic to see the results of that. "Cutting the ribbon today felt like a genuine moment for all of us."
