I noticed more and more corporations outsourcing their marketing and ad production to micro influencers? For example, on TikTok, Reddit, instagram and even Youtube, I see influencers 20-50k followers creating, filming, editing, and posting ads for large corporations like Claude, OpenAI, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, ALO, etc. These micro influencers will make the ad by filming themselves. They would do all the editing and filming, then post it on their own channels. Then the corporations will take the post and pump the post up through google/meta ads. It seems like the corporations have to do zero work and just get a single influencer to do everything and their products reach millions of people. I rarely see an ad now that is professionally done by an agency with models, actors, and a film set. It’s all being done by a single influencer doing all the work. I wonder how well these people get paid…

  • “Couple of things... Brand is about consistency. If you're outsourcing 10 different reels/carousels out to 4 different influencers, you're going to get a patchwork of content back. Difficult to build a brand on inconsistency. Imagine if it was a crap shoot what your burger tastes like every time you go to McDonald's - the business model doesn't work. Low pay = low quality. If you want thought-t”

  • “What's actually happening is brands run the numbers before they run the deal. They pull the creator's last 10 to 15 posts and calculate real engagement rate, likes plus comments divided by followers, not just view count, because views get inflated easy and comments don't lie as much. Anything under 2 percent on a 20 to 50k account is a red flag for bought followers. Try it on your own stuff this”
