We are looking at Starlink for our backup internet. We are having internet outages approximately every 4-6 weeks due to many factors. One being we are out in the middle of nowhere. We have a backup circuit with at least one GRE tunnel that serves approximately 300 users. Does anyone have experience with Starlink?

  • [comment u/TrueStoriesIpromise] You can't use GRE tunnels with Starlink, because Starlink will change your IP address (even if you pay for the service where they don't). So use IPSec with Starlink.

  • [comment u/SireBillyMays] No issues with users from Starlink locations + ZCC. I haven't had any sites with GRE+Starlink. Not sure if Starlink even offers static IP for IPv4 even for business accounts. No issues on dynamic addresses and IPSec though.
