Verkada cameras, no direct access?

I had a client who wanted me to install 3 cameras today. They ended up being Verkada. I've actually never used this type. While installing them I went to check the angle and powered it up fine via POE with my spot monitor. But I couldn't log into it. Nothing worked. Are they cloud based only? Is the Verkada Command app the only way to view them to set the view live?

  • “Ive done very basic work with Verkada systems as far as programming but if you're trying to remotely log into one of their cameras for a setup you can use the camera options and create a low quality rtsp stream for it so it can be logged into without using command. You can only do that for up to 5 devices I think Not the biggest fan of Verkada from the access control and alarm perspective but th”
