Applied MaterialsCustomer feedback

A current ASM employee, who previously worked at Applied Materials, commented that the work environment at ASM is very similar to what they experienced at Applied Materials.

What happened

Post: "I'm curious if anyone knows about the Global R&D Process Engineering Program at ASM or better yet has been through it."

In short it says that the program is designed to train you for 18-24 months in either Leuven or Helsinki and then deploy you as a permanent employee at one of their KPU's in Korea, Japan or USA. I'm curious if this is a good opportunity for someone right out of their PhD, and how ASM is overall as an employee? My main concern is all the negative stuff I am seeing about ASM on this sub. Not sure if it's mainly an Arizona issue or a global company wide management issue.

  • “I work at ASM and formerly Applied. I work with but do not work at a US site. The claims made about ASM on this sub are largely indistinct from the environment I saw at Applied, with some specific exceptions which won't be relevant to you as a NCG. Remuneration is good, we are definitely very busy, and for a new college graduate there are plenty of opportunities to stand out. I know the Belgiu”
