Hi all, I'm an inpatient pharmacist with experience in both pediatrics and adults. I completed the Willow self-study proficiency (classes, project, final test) and now feel like I'm at the point where I just need to find an employer willing to invest in me and help me get certified. I have seen some listings for contracting companies like Deloitte. Is that worth pursuing? Is there any way to sponsor myself? If you went through something similar, I'd love to hear your story.

  • “contract roles are usually the path for this. hospitals dont want to sponsor unless theyre desperate or you already work there. the catch is you need to be ready to travel and hit the ground running since they expect you to know your stuff day one sponsoring yourself isnt really a thing unless you have a connection at an org willing to sponsor you as an FTE, which is rare these days. some people”

  • “self-study proficiency is a real signal that you have put in the work, but certification usually depends on an employer’s sponsorship and access to a live implementation path. that makes the search less about finding any Epic role and more about finding an organization willing to build talent consulting firms can be worth exploring, especially if they have a clear training pipeline.
