Onboarding Document Help!

Hey everyone! I am just launching out on my own and I am having analysis paralysis on just the document/forms side of onboarding. Is there any Altruist user who could walk me through their client forms flow from ADV/Privacy Policy delivery to Advisory Agreement and then to IPS/Suitability? My issue is that Altruist does not allow you to send documents for review/signature until after the client has made an account. I feel silly setting up Docusign just to have the ADV/Privacy Policy, and Advisory Agreement in that. Thank you all in advance!

  • [comment u/BackdoorBasis] Send a DocuSign with the advisory agreement, ADV, and privacy policy.

  • “This is pretty much the way I do it: Send a DocuSign with the advisory agreement, ADV, and privacy policy. Once signed, I send an email with a link to a secure portal and a list of documents to share. After our first official meeting with them as a client, I open their accounts and also send them an online risk questionnaire to complete. The number of meetings depends on the client's circu”

Not expensive and saves headache later. Set up your templates once in Docusign with ADV, privacy, advisory agreement all in one envelope, then IPS lives in Altruist after. Keeps everything cleaner than trying to hack around”

  • “Wow, glad I’m not there and do not have to deal with that. I just make a contact in CRM with name & email and send the disclosures through CRM which records that I provided them. If they become a client, we start the opening process with that CRM record. No signatures until they are ready to be a client. We even have it that I can create the base CRM record on my phone, on the fly, and send th”

  • “I might be the outlier here, but after they agree in or after a meeting to the plan, I send them Altrist invites and send them my 5 forms right after inside of Altruist E-Sign. It hasn't happened yet but if and when a client were to move money and not sign the forms I would simply do nothing with the account at all until everything was signed.”
