Users integrating DocuSign with other platforms report that its webhooks are unreliable, as they fire only once without retries and can fail silently when rate limits are hit, forcing developers to build polling mechanisms as a workaround.

How do you all track DocuSign signatures inside GHL?

Highlighted: the lines this signal was extracted from

Setting up workflows for a client and hitting a wall. We send contracts via DocuSign, but the status is invisible inside GHL - I have to log into DocuSign to see if it's been viewed or signed. I tried Zapier but it doesn't really work - statuses stop updating and it's just not reliable. Also tried GHL's built-in signatures, but those don't have certifications, so they're useless for us - clients need the DocuSign certificate of completion. How is everyone else handling this?

  • [comment u/Necessary_Gap_79] Zapier is the problem, not GHL. DocuSign fires its webhook once and doesn't retry. Hit their rate limit mid batch and those events are gone, so status just freezes and nothing tells you.

Stop triggering on it, poll instead. GHL's HTTP request action can call the DocuSign envelopes API, read the status, and write it to a custom field. No third party in the middle. • “There is a signature option within GHL as well. Not sure if that would work for your specific industry or not. We have our agreements loaded up in GHL and modify for the client specifics.”

  • “The freeze is the webhook path with nothing checking behind it. We take the DocuSign Connect event and run an hourly poll on open envelopes that fixes whatever the event missed. Envelope status goes into one GHL custom field and the certificate link into another, so the workflow fires off the field and nobody logs into DocuSign. Is it one DocuSign account for the client, or one per sub-account?”
