Hi guys, I'm trying to get a rough idea of what these platforms actually cost in practice for a fairly large human WGS project. For anyone who has recently bought or gotten a quote for an Element AVITI or Illumina NextSeq 2000: roughly how much was the instrument? what region/country was the quote from? was that list price or a negotiated price? roughly how much are the reagents per run / per human genome? I’m looking at a project with around 2,000 samples. I’ve seen quite different numbers online, so I'm mainly interested in actual quotes/purchase prices rather than MSRP. Even a rough range would be really helpful. Thanks a lot!

  • [comment u/No-Code4038] We got a bigger discount from Illumina as they are a more established company and we have a history with them.

  • [comment u/No-Code4038] NextSeq2000: £180k I think both of these had equipment trade-in discounts, though.

  • “We have both systems. Based in the UK. AVITI: £235k + £90k upgrade to the 24 NextSeq2000: £180k I think both of these had equipment trade-in discounts, though. We got a bigger discount from Illumina as they are a more established company and we have a history with them. Element are still fairly new, so got next to no discount. AVITI High Output 2x150bp: £1,500 per flow cell 1Bn read pairs on A”

  • “Also worth add to your assessment in that scale: MGI T1+ - the only Illumina flow cell cheaper than a T1+ is the 25B, but you don’t have to wait a month to fill the T1+ Genemind - Q50 chemistry! You are in a happy place having choice!”
