So far in 2026, the company has reduced the overall cost of its shopping basket by 8%, according to data from Worldpanel by Numerator, following various reductions applied over recent months. As of today, 800 products in Lidl's assortment have a lower price than they registered at the beginning of the year. These permanent reductions affect practically all product categories and reflect the company's sustained effort to contain the cost of the shopping basket. This reduction fully impacts the table and daily routine of households, with reductions affecting practically the entire basket: from hygiene, personal care, and cleaning items to pantry products and, especially, fresh products such as fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish. Among the permanent reductions applied in recent months, some exceed 20% as in hake sticks and lentils, other reductions in basic and habitually consumed products amount to more than 15% as in long-grain rice, green beans, and chopped onion.
