MAUI - Qualcomm is expanding its collaboration with Samsung Electronics, which previously focused on smartphones, to include next-generation devices such as Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based glasses. According to Chosun Biz, both companies aim to build a personal AI ecosystem that allows watches, XR devices, AI glasses, and other gadgets to connect and exchange information about users through their smartphones.On October 23, local time, during the second day of the Snapdragon Summit 2026 in Maui, Hawaii, Qualcomm named Samsung Electronics as a key partner in its personal AI strategy. Jiad Asghar, Senior Vice President and Head of XR, Wearables, and Personal AI at Qualcomm, stated that Samsung plays a crucial role in expanding the personal AI ecosystem. According to him, both companies have collaborated for a long time to deliver various mobile innovations used globally. “Together with Samsung, we are bringing AI to more devices, not just phones, but also watches, XR, and smart glasses,” said Asghar.The previous collaboration between both companies had focused on application processors (AP) for smartphones.
