Running a salad QSR for a year in Bangalore, still losing money. Looking for someone experienced to guide us.We are running one salad-focused QSR in a Bangalore. Most of our orders come through Swiggy and Zomato. Customers like the salads and our ratings are good but we're still putting in about ₹50k every month and we're honestly unsure what to do next. What we know:Swiggy/Zomato take around half of each order. Our few direct and subscription customers are the only profitable part. What we don't know: fix it, pivot or close. If you have run a QSR, cloud kitchen or food delivery brand in India, we would really value your advice, in the comments or over DM if you prefer. And if you're open to advising us more closely or even investing later, we are happy to talk.

  • “As someone who doesn’t prefer eating salad- what kept me going to Subway in UK but never after first time in India- • super crisp veggies • smell of the breads • loaded meat • the reward plan that made my every Xth sub free. Someone did that with burger in Pune. With a stamped reward card. I never order salad home. I love to see it. May be- try a tiny portable setup where the crowd hangout. Pe”

  • “Difficult to diagnose a business with such a short context. But some questions come to mind if you want to think about them yourself or share (you can also DM). Answers to these questions (and others) will help you decide on "fix it, pivot or close." Cities/Locations of operation? Just BLR? Just 1 location? Then a lot depends on that location - if you are reaching the right customers there etc.”

  • “I had my own startup in the food space and have worked extensively with Swiggy as an employee. First of all MOST new food businesses DO NOT get profitable within 1 year. Many popular brands which are VC funded are still not profitable after 5-6 years. Given limited information you have shared here are two things to consider Is your revenue (net of discounts) increasing and at what rate ? I”
