Hi, Im beating my head against a wall on this one and i cannot think of a solution. Mikrotik RB5009 is what im using. I have contacted Vodafone and they have provided me my credentials. I don’t need to set a VLAN as I can see the pppoe discovery messages being sent and have detected the pppoe server on the line. Ive allowed chap pap and mschap. Vodafone have sworn my credentials are right and I’ve put them in a dozen times but each time I get a response saying I could not authenticate. I’ve tried all the combinations of broadband.vodafone.co.uk with and without. I genuinely cannot figure this out now. Has anyone gotten this functional on a MK?

    From the post

  • [comment u/WhyDidYouBringMeBack] Main problem here is that Vodafone UK doesn't seem to provide a lot of public info about settings needed for using your own router, apart from "contact support".

  • [comment u/ryanbate] I have a Mikrotik connecting to Vodafone over CityFibre network and it’s using VLAN 911 on the ethernet interface to the ONT, then PPPoE client on the VLAN interface.

  • “Like a comment on the original post said, this may be a VLAN thing where you need to tag the WAN interface with a specific VLAN ID and then configure PPPoE on that VLAN. Main problem here is that Vodafone UK doesn't seem to provide a lot of public info about settings needed for using your own router, apart from "contact support". Ask them, but ask them for more than just the credentials.”
