  • [comment u/Lucky-Student5672] You need to look at your engaged views these are what you get paid for. These will be your actual views YouTube changed it back so auto views and watching for under thirty seconds* shows as a view.

  • [comment u/FlySimilar8505] Been going thru the same thing 💔they’re going by “engaged views” now but it def feels like what they’re consider the engaged ones is way less than what im used to.

  • [comment u/FourEyesGames] No, you're getting the same as before. Old views are now "engaged views". RPM is based on engaged views in the exact same way as RPM was based on old views before.

  • “I'm going through the same thing and it genuinely feels like theft. Before this, I'd get a minimum of 20k, 70k, up to 100k views per video, and that would bring in $40-50 a day, with good days hitting $200. A 20k-view video used to net me a solid $35-40. Since the change, that same type of video (same format, same audience, and supposedly "more views" per YouTube) is only bringing in $7-10. I'm”

  • “I have a theory. I think yt didn’t just change the way all views are being calculated, but also engaged views. After the update I have the worst possible performance. Like. On paper, the video performs fine against my last 10 vids, but engaged views is like 3 times less. So if I compare engaged views against engaged views before the update, the video is the worst performance I have seen in like 25”

  • “Revenue dropped by 90% since the update. That’s all I have to say about it 😂 I would be clearing £3000 or so this month it’s barely broke £300… no change to content or engagement. 🤷🏻‍♂️”

These will be your actual views YouTube changed it back so auto views and watching for under thirty seconds* shows as a view. Your engagement tab will show your views and that will match up with your expectations. In regards to payment per video that varies quite considerably.”
