Quick roundup of the most interesting startup / indie hacker stories from the last 24 hours. 1. Nvidia ships CUDA Rust - native GPU kernels without C Nvidia officially released CUDA Rust: two tracks for writing GPU kernels directly in Rust. cuda-oxide follows the traditional SIMT model (early alpha, requires nightly Rust). cutile-rs uses the newer tile model and runs on stable Rust 1.89+. No more wrapping C code - Rust's ownership system catches memory aliasing bugs at compile time. The HN post hit 804 points today. Already used in HuggingFace's Grout and mistral.rs outside Nvidia. 2. Crusoe raises $3.9B at a ~$31B valuation for AI-native data centers Crusoe Energy closed a $3.9B round as it builds "Spark" - modular data centers designed specifically for AI workloads. The thesis: traditional data center formats were built for web apps, not for GPU clusters that scale unpredictably. At a $31B valuation, this is one of the biggest AI infrastructure bets of the year. 3.
